Swim Instructor\/Lifeguard \n

The Swim Instructor\/Lifeguard position is a part-time dual role, whose main objective is teaching learn-to-swim programs, as well as surveillance of pool participants, and enforcing pool regulations and water safety policies. Prior teaching experience not required. Must have a current ARC Lifeguard Certification.\n

Per Diem Flex Hours: Hours\/Shifts may vary \n

(Shifts available: mornings, afternoons or evenings, weekdays, weekends)\n

Please note: This is a year-round position, anyone interested must be available year-round.\n

Duties include but are not limited to:\n

Lifeguard duties\n

-Maintaining continuous surveillance of people in the pool to ensure that they are swimming within the safety protocols\n

-Ensuring appropriate headcount of people involved in a watersport on an hourly basis\n

-Spotting hazards or potential hazards and taking measures to prevent accidents\n

-Controlling and reporting unruly behavior and evict individuals not adhering to behavior protocols\n

-Performing rescues in the event of drowning or swimming accidents including CPR and AED if needed\n

- Assists with chlorine residual water tests and with records and charts of water tests and records of accidents,\n

-Checking safety of rescue tubes and buoys and perform needed maintenance\n

- Assists in cleaning the pool and related facilities and equipment\n

Swim Instructor duties\n

-Teach learn-to-swim programs. Teaching swimming techniques and safety education to new swimmers\n

-Creating and executing ideas on how to increase attendance in classes\n

-Instructs or assists classes in fundamentals of swimming as needed.\n

- Provide a fun and educational swim lesson experience for both participants and parents.\n

- Provide exemplary customer service ensuring the best swim lesson experience for the participants and parents.\n

- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills including communication skills with students, parents and facility staff.\n

- Attend all training sessions and any additional staff meetings.\n

- Complete all appropriate lesson paperwork during shift.\n

- Must have Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification
