Sustaining Engineer
Job Summary:

The Sustaining Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining and improving the performance, reliability, and safety of existing product lines. This position focuses on continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and lifecycle support to ensure our solutions remain effective and aligned with evolving industry standards and customer needs. Key Responsibilities: Identifying and implementing enhancements to existing products to optimize performance and reliability Collaborating with Engineering, Design, Project Management, and Production teams to integrate improvements throughout the product lifecycle Conducting failure analysis and root cause assessments to resolve product issues and define solution pathways Developing and testing prototypes with a focus on durability, mechanical efficiency, and field usability Evaluating and recommending updates to materials, components, and processes to improve product quality and longevity Ensuring all engineering improvements comply with relevant industry, Quality, and safety standards Documenting new procedures and contributing to the development of internal engineering standards Monitoring key performance indicators and reporting progress against defined goals Engaging in field trials and gathering user feedback to inform design refinements Supporting organizational improvement initiatives related to product quality, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency


Skills and Qualifications: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on engineering optimization Proficiency in 3D modeling and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) Working knowledge of engineering and manufacturing standards (e.g., API, ASME, ISO) Effective communication and collaboration abilities Experience managing engineering projects and implementing iterative design changes Creativity and technical acumen in developing durable and efficient mechanical products In-depth knowledge of industry design principles Familiarity with ERP systems; Acumatica experience preferred Knowledge of machining practices and components preferred Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related discipline Experience in product design, failure analysis, or performance optimization preferred Six Sigma certification or RCCA experience is preferred EIT or PE certification preferred
