The Sustaining and Product Support Engineer is responsible for ensuring the ongoing reliability, performance, and supportability of existing products, with a focus on complex digital and RF communications equipment. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues, improve product quality, and enhance customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

The Opportunity:

CACI's Mastodon Design team in Rochester, NY is seeking an experienced Sustaining and Product Support Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will:Maintain and enhance the reliability and performance of existing digital and RF communications equipment through trouble-shooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.Offer expert technical support to resolve customer issues, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure timely and effective problem resolution.Identify and implement process improvements, cost reductions, and best practices within the product lifecycle to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities:

Provide technical support for existing products, with a focus on complex digital and RF communications equipment, addressing customer issues and ensuring timely resolution.Collaborate with customer service, sales, and other stakeholders to understand and resolve product-related problems.Conduct root cause analysis for product failures and implement corrective actions.Maintain and enhance existing products to ensure they meet customer needs and industry standards, with a particular emphasis on digital and RF communications equipment.Develop and implement improvements to product design, manufacturing processes, and quality control.Work with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks associated with product sustainment.Create and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, troubleshooting guides, and internal knowledgebases.Ensure that all technical documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevantIdentify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions within the product lifecycle.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices.Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and other departments to ensure seamless product support.Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing clear and concise technical information.Ensure that products comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.Stay informed about changes in regulations and standards that may impact product support and sustainment.

Qualifications:

Required: 

7+ years of experience in a sustaining engineering or product support role, with a focus on digital and RF communications equipment.Proven experience with troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues in digital and RF systems.Experience with product lifecycle management and continuous improvement methodologies.Strong understanding of product design, manufacturing processes, and quality control, particularly in the context of digital and RF communications equipment.Proficiency with technical documentation and knowledge management tools.Experience with regulatory compliance and industry standards relevant to digital and RF communications.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$75,200-$158,100
