Sustainability Manager

Are you passionate about driving environmental change and embedding sustainability into the heart of an organisation? Join Barnardo's as our new Sustainability Manager and lead the delivery of our ambitious Sustainability Programme. 

About the Role 

As Sustainability Manager, you will be responsible for managing and delivering Barnardo's carbon reduction plan and net zero roadmap. You'll lead on mandatory reporting requirements such as SECR and ESOS, and work across departments to embed sustainable principles into our operations and change programmes. 

This is a strategic role that involves working with senior leaders and external partners to shape and implement our long-term sustainability strategy. You'll manage a portfolio of projects, track energy usage, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. 

Some of the key responsibilities include:  

Deliver and maintain our carbon reduction and net zero plans  Monitor energy use and identify reduction opportunities  Support governance and strategy development across the organisation  Manage sustainability projects and embed best practices  Develop impact frameworks and report on outcomes 

 About You 

We're looking for someone with: 

A degree (or equivalent experience) in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Geography, or a related field  Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability reporting  Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects  Experience of Sustainability practices including SECR, ESOS, and Carbon Footprint Measurement   A collaborative mindset and emotional intelligence to drive change empathetically
