Role Purpose

Amazon Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) is seeking a Sustainability Compliance & Reporting Manager to support compliance readiness activities and drive ESG regulatory frameworks across GREF's European operations from March 2026 onwards.

This role will lead end-to-end project management for energy efficiency and ESG compliance responsiveness, with immediate focus on establishing scalable compliance models and coordinating the ISO 50001 Energy Management System implementation pilot in Germany.

 

What this job involves  

Key responsibilities include


ESG Reporting & Regulatory Compliance (HIGHEST PRIORITY)

Support development of scalable, trusted, and reliable model for year-over-year (YoY) energy efficiency and ESG compliance across GREF's European operations

Lead end-to-end project management for compliance responsiveness across countries where GREF tracks current and future energy efficiency compliance and ESG requirements

Establish frameworks for reactive and proactive ESG compliance approaches, workflows, and governance, ensuring replicability and regulatory readiness as requirements evolve

Support coordination of timely data collection and vendor management activities

Partner closely with internal data teams and local Facilities Management (FM) and Project Management teams

ISO 50001 Energy Management System - Germany (HIGHEST PRIORITY)

Drive project coordination for ISO 50001 EnMS implementation pilot in Germany

Manage scoping, planning, and implementation activities across pilot sites

Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure certification readiness

EPBD Compliance Support

Support EPBD (Energy Performance of Buildings Directive) compliance activities across European portfolio

Coordinate building energy performance standards adherence and reporting

Operational Sustainability Support (Supporting wider EMEA JLL Sustainability Operations Team)

Provide technical advisory support on energy conservation measures to IFM teams

Support utility data management and site-level energy benchmarking activities

Assist with carbon project pipeline coordination and development

Support SPLA (Sustainability Performance Lease Assessment) workstream activities as needed

Requirements – Essential

Strong project management skills with experience coordinating cross-functional, geographically distributed teams

Demonstrated expertise with European energy efficiency regulations and building energy performance standards

Track record for managing ISO 50001 or similar energy management system scoping and implementation

Understanding of European sustainability reporting requirements (CSRD, EU Taxonomy, GHG Protocol)

Ability to work across different functions and time zones to drive results

Excellent stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences

Experience partnering with Facilities Management (FM), Property Management (PM), and data teams

Strong attention to detail and ability to distil complex information into plain language

Fluent in English; German language skills strongly preferred

 

Requirements – Desirable

5+ years’ experience in sustainability operations, energy management, ESG compliance, or energy engineering in complex corporate real estate environments

ISO 50001 Lead Auditor or implementation certification

Experience with large-scale corporate real estate portfolios

Familiarity with European energy regulations (ESOS, EPBD, EED, GEG, Decret Tertiaire etc.)

Project management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2)

Master's degree in Sustainable Energy, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field

Knowledge of carbon accounting techniques and GHG Protocol

Working Environment

Location: Germany or London, UK

Travel: 15-25% pan-European travel expected

Working pattern: 5-days on-site weekly; flexibility required for cross-time zone collaboration
