We are looking for a Surveyor II to join our team!
Important Note: This role is considered safety sensitive, and as such, you may be required to undergo various background screenings. This may include but is not limited to a driving record abstract, criminal check, a company sponsored medical and drug testing.
What You Will Do:Surveyor II is an intermediate-level role within the Surveyor job family. The incumbent performs hands-on technical activities to support pipeline construction and design projects. This role is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and documenting survey data while ensuring compliance with Enbridge’s safety policies, operational standards, and technical procedures. The Surveyor II works with increasing independence and coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to meet project expectations.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain and calibrate survey equipment in accordance with company standards
Drive company vehicle to job sites and ensure safe transport of equipment
Collect as-constructed survey data on active pipeline construction projects
Set construction stakes and benchmarks to support field operations
Conduct topographic surveys for pipeline design and layout
Survey control points and assist in establishing site calibrations
Collect land boundary information under the direction of leadership
Create stakeout points and plans using AutoCAD Civil3D
Generate CAD drawings using survey data, ensuring adherence to company standards and standard procedures
Coordinate schedules and project expectations with stakeholders
Ensure accurate record keeping and timely documentation of survey activities
Demonstrate a detailed understanding of Enbridge Safety Policies and Procedures and act in accordance with them at all times
Who You Are:Required experience: 2 years as a Surveyor I or equivalent
Working knowledge of land surveying theories and principles
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D
Proficiency in Trimble Business Center
Proficiency in Trimble GNSS and conventional survey equipment and software
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to analyze drawings and specifications and make sound decisions
Strong planning and organization skills
Effective computer skills
Ability to obtain Operator Qualifications (OQ)
Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to handle multiple tasks and work both independently and in a team
Exposure to Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) and remote sensing/aerial photogrammetry
Occasional overtime will be expected depending on project needs
Physical Requirements (Include but are not limited to):Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying (up to 40 pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (objects up to 40 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement, grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 40 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.
Mental Requirements (Both field & office) include but are not limited to:Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
