Surveyor Entry - Westwego, LA

Job Duties:Work on crew boats or survey crewsCheck inbound/outbound towsPump/Shingle BargesBecome proficient and qualified in safety checking barges for entryHole watch for team as neededLearn to operate survey crew boatCommunicate with customers and office personnel via phone/emailPreform 7 day idle barge fleet checksAssist with fleet maintenance as neededInspect barges and document inspectionsGeneral upkeep of crew boatsAble to work weekends and travel to outside fleets, docks as neededQualifications:Deckhand experience preferred but not requiredAbility to work safely, exercise initiative and good judgmentWriting skills sufficient to complete a variety of documentsAbility to work in a flexible way that allows for changes in assignments and priorities depending upon identified needs of the survey crewAbility to work well independently as well as part of a teamPhysical Requirements:Must be able to handle rigging (up to 50 lbs.), pump and shingle barges, learn barge terminology and communications skills, learn emergency proceduresMust be able to work in all types of climate changesADM requires the successful completion of a background check.
