Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Surveyor - Cost Management Surveyor III in Houston, TX.

Job details:

Responsible for preparation of Cost Estimates for Horizontal (Civil and Flat work) and Vertical Structures (Buildings, Offices, hospitals, Airport Terminals, Healthcare, Hangers, Schools, Colleges).Tasks include quantity takeoffs, formulation of rates using current labor market trends, formulation of rates, and sourcing pricing from 3rd party trades and vendors.Performs estimates at various stages of design development and assess and compares various project options. Reviews/reconciles bid documentation and performs cash flow forecasting and analysis.Works on value management/value engineering, as well as risk analysis/risk management.Researches and determines benchmarks against similar projects.Prepares and issues requests for information/request for qualification/ request for proposal and responds to vendor queries. Levels and analyzes bids and issue analysis report and recommendation.Prepares purchase orders, letter agreements, and contracts for all appointments (consultant/contractors/sub-contractors).Prepares monthly financial reports and review and advises on uncommitted balances.Reviews and advises on contingency balances and reviews vendor invoices/applications for payment.Leads the change control process and project financial closeout.Position requires up to 40% domestic travel. 

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Construction Management, or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.

Alternatively, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Construction Management, or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.

Creating rates from first principlesPreparing construction bids and detailed quantity takeoffsMS Project, Planswift, Onscreen, Bluebeam and P6 Primavera scheduling softwareProject and field cost reporting including progress reportsPay application review and vettingCash flow and trend analysisValue engineering and change order managementBid solicitation and analysisScheduling and project management basics
