Job Description
The Survey Technician is responsible for assisting in the collection and analysis of topographic data for construction projects. This role requires collaboration with Survey Project Managers and other team members to ensure accurate and efficient surveying services. The technician will update CAD files, manage GPS machine control data, and support the modeling team while working closely with the excavation team.
ResponsibilitiesUpdate and manage CAD files.Manage GPS machine control data.Provide support to the modeling team.Work closely with the excavation team.Perform storm and sanitary calculations.Understand and manage survey points, point groups, CSV files, and coordinate systems.Post-process and analyze survey data.Output accurate and professional As-Built Drawings.Perform accurate volume calculations as needed.Organize DWG files utilizing Dynamic Blocks, Layers, and Colors.Work collaboratively with other team members to meet project requirements.Essential Skills5 years of experience in surveying.Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D from a survey background.Experience in creating point groups.Survey database management.Additional Skills & QualificationsProficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Dropbox, and Microsoft Teams.Experience in as-built pipe networks profiles and sections is nice to have.Experience with 'Agtek Earthwork 3D' for surface creation and earthwork calculations is a plus.Ability to perform material take-offs from plans.Ability to read and understand civil, structural, and architectural plans and specifications.Strong mathematical and analytical skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Work Environment
This is an office-based role with a standard schedule from 7am to 4pm. The work environment is fast-paced, consisting of a team of about 30 professionals, including surveyors, technicians, and administrative staff. The role may offer hybrid flexibility once the candidate is comfortable with the processes and standard operating rhythm. Bonuses are based on company performance, with opportunities for growth from Technician to Assistant Project Manager to Project Manager.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.05 - $40.86/hr.
