Job Description

As a Survey Manager, you will lead a skilled team of professionals supporting a diverse portfolio of projects, including infrastructure, transportation, land development, and environmental services. This role blends strategic oversight, team leadership, and hands-on project involvement.

ResponsibilitiesRecruit, mentor, and retain a high-performing survey team of 20 professionals.Promote collaboration across disciplines and encourage professional growth.Manage performance reviews, team utilization, and workload balancing.Oversee technical execution to ensure client expectations are met or exceeded.Review scopes, schedules, and cost proposals for accuracy, serving as project manager or task lead when needed.Align staffing resources with business goals and project demands.Implement internal processes, safety protocols, and quality standards.Support the adoption of new technologies and continuous improvement initiatives.Understand and apply client standards, particularly for public sector clients such as CALTRANS.Assist in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to expand regional presence.Essential SkillsLicensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in any U.S. state, with California strongly preferred.8+ years of progressive experience in the land surveying field.Proven track record in staff supervision, project delivery, and client relationship building.Proficiency in surveying techniques, project management, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and topographic surveys.Ability to lead with clarity, empathy, and strategic thinking.Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with CALTRANS standards and processes is a plus.Knowledge in land development and hydrographic surveying.Experience with mobile 3D laser scanning.Work Environment

This hybrid work environment offers a balance of three days in the office and two days remote. The company fosters a culture of collaboration, learning, accountability, and excellence. You will manage a team of 20 professionals while reporting to a team of 5. The dress code is business casual, and the shift is during morning hours. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
