Job Description
As a Survey Manager, you will lead a skilled team of professionals supporting a diverse portfolio of projects, including infrastructure, transportation, land development, and environmental services. This role blends strategic oversight, team leadership, and hands-on project involvement.
ResponsibilitiesRecruit, mentor, and retain a high-performing survey team.Promote collaboration across disciplines and encourage professional growth.Manage performance reviews, team utilization, and workload balancing.Oversee technical execution to ensure client expectations are met or exceeded.Review scopes, schedules, and cost proposals for accuracy and act as project manager or task lead when needed.Align staffing resources with business goals and project demands.Implement internal processes, safety protocols, and quality standards.Support the adoption of new technologies and continuous improvement initiatives.Understand and apply client standards, particularly for public sector clients such as CALTRANS.Assist in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to expand regional presence.Essential SkillsSurveyingLicensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS)Land Surveying - 8 yearsProject managementSupervisionCivil 3DAutoCADTopographyAdditional Skills & QualificationsLicensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in any U.S. state (California strongly preferred)8+ years of progressive experience in the land surveying fieldProven track record in staff supervision, project delivery, and client relationship buildingFamiliarity with CALTRANS standards and processes is a plusAbility to lead with clarity, empathy, and strategic thinkingWork Environment
The work environment is hybrid, requiring three days in the office. The culture emphasizes collaboration, learning, accountability, and excellence. The Survey Manager will be managing a team of 20 and reporting to a team of 5. The dress code is business casual, and the position is for the AM shift.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
