Airswift are currently recruiting for a Cable Survey Engineer to play a key role working on an upcoming HVDC interconnector project in Europe.
Your focus will be translating survey data into reliable inputs for route engineering, tender documentation and contractor interfaces for both development and execution preparation phases.
This contract position is hybrid, starting at the end of March for 9 months with potential extension into 2027.
Key tasks & responsibilities: Survey Definition & Preparation Define geo?physical and geo?technical survey requirements per project standards. Produce and maintain technical specs for survey campaigns and EPCI tender inputs. Prepare clear survey information packages for tenderers. Route Engineering & Data Management Manage survey data, route alignments and constraints in the project GIS (ArcGIS / GISGRO). Support route optimisation, seabed mobility/morphology assessments and hazard identification. Interpret bathymetry, seabed and sub?seabed data to identify features, hazards and integrity risks. Tender Support Review and evaluate survey/EPCI tender submissions. Support technical clarifications and contribute to negotiations. Survey Execution & Follow?Up Inspect survey vessels, spreads and equipment; verify readiness and QA/QC methods. Follow up execution onshore/offshore. Coordinate sampling and laboratory testing. Review deliverables, data quality and reports for compliance. Stakeholder Interface Work with internal experts, PMs and buyers to turn survey outputs into project inputs. Ensure all documentation and deliverables meet project, contractual and industry standards. Requirements: MSc Oceanography / Geology / Geophysics (or equivalent experience). Extensive offshore geophysical & geotechnical survey experience. Proficiency with ArcGIS/GISGRO, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office. Strong survey methods knowledge, data QA/QC, reporting standards.
