Survey Department Lead

Position Overview

We are seeking a Survey Technology Manager to lead, manage, and take full accountability for construction technologies used both in the field and office. This leadership role is responsible for driving the adoption and integration of innovative technologies to increase operational efficiency, ensure specification compliance, and support company-wide performance.

The successful candidate will have direct reports and will work closely with internal teams, vendors, engineers, and surveyors to coordinate technology strategies across all project phases.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage GPS machine control systems (e.g., Trimble and Leica). Coordinate and manage 3D models for GPS machine control and Leica stringless paving systems. Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, and project managers to ensure data integrity and accuracy in model creation. Train and support field and office staff in the use of construction technology tools. Continuously evaluate and improve technology workflows to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness. Serve as a key resource to other departments, providing guidance and technical support on construction technologies. Manage a team of direct reports and provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience managing GPS and Leica machine control systems. Proficiency in the following software is required: Trimble Business Center Trimble WorksManager AutoCAD Civil 3D Agtek Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders. Experience working with heavy civil, infrastructure, or paving projects is preferred.

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
