Job Description
Join our team as a Survey Crew Member and play a vital role in a major highway design project. We seek entry-level surveyors ready to work hard and embrace opportunities for growth. You will begin as an Instrument Person, with potential to advance to a Rod Person. During inclement weather, you will continue to be paid for 40 hours a week, working in the office on tasks such as learning CAD.
ResponsibilitiesCoordinate daily with field coordinators, project managers, and office staff.Ensure safe work practices and compliance with safety regulations.Supervise all members of the survey crew.Operate independently as a one-person crew when necessary.Upload and download data from data collectors daily.Care for and charge survey instrumentation.Advance knowledge with upgrades in technology and equipment.Assist the Party Chief in carrying survey equipment and supplies to job sites.Clear vegetation obstructing the line of sight.Assist the Party Chief in collecting survey data.Ensure tasks are performed safely and effectively according to contract documents.Essential SkillsMinimum of 7 years’ experience running a crew using robotic total stations and GPS.Proficiency with Trimble or other survey equipment (GPS, Robotics, Total Stations, Levels, and Data Collectors).Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience or familiarity with AutoCAD is preferred.Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations is preferred.Willingness to learn and follow directions from the Party Chief.Work Environment
Work primarily outdoors in various weather conditions. During inclement weather, work indoors on tasks such as learning CAD. Overtime is not required but available for those interested in additional work. Engage in a supportive environment with opportunities for career growth and advancement.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
