We have an opportunity for Surgical Technologist. Barnes-Jewish Hospital's POD 1 is a 13 OR suite unit located in the East and West Pavilion buildings on the south side of the medical campus. We’re a Level 1 Trauma Center, so our OR is open 24/7. POD 1 core services: Abdomen and pelvic focus, GYN, urology, general surgery, colorectal, robotics

 

Four 10-hour shifts (630A start time)Call: 3 total 12-hour call shifts each 6-week schedule periodHolidays: One holiday mixture of shifts shift per year, rotate Winter/Spring12,500 SIGN ON BONUS

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Performs surgical duties for operating room procedures under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.

 

Responsibilities

Prepares operating room for surgical patient, reviews preference cards to determine surgeon needs, obtains the necessary supplies and equipment for the procedure, ensures cleanliness of room, and assists with opening sterile supplies.Performs surgical scrub duties, and assists with the collection, identification, and disposition of cultures and specimens.Assists in turning over of room, and ensures supplies, instruments, and equipment are returned to proper location.
