Apply Today! **Job Summary and Qualifications** As the Surgical Technologist, you will assist the surgical team through case preparation, surgical assistance, and after care of operating room patients, equipment and supplies. You will participate in unit activities and may also hold a variety of clerical, reception, and registrar functions. + You will assemble and prepare for procedures, and help with procedure completion + You will participate in performance of surgical procedures + You will ensure availability of safe instruments and equipment + You will return equipment and supplies appropriately following procedure completion + You will demonstrate efficiency and timeliness during case turnover + You will take action to prevent and manage accidents in the area + You will update procedure cards when changes are necessary + You will participate in process improvement and inventory control + You will actively support secretarial operations of the nursing unit **What qualifications you will need:** Experience + Previous experience as a Surgical Technologist – preferred + Experience in general, GYN and OB – preferred + Previous hospital based secretary experience – preferred Education + Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program and successful completion of the certification exam Licenses and Certifications + Current Basic Life Support Certification + Surgical Technologists that graduate after September 1, 2009 must hold and maintain a current certification as a Surgical Technologist within 180 days from the date of graduation..
