Job Description
The Surgical Technologist Certified works under the supervision of a surgeon and registered nurse to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures. This role ensures that the operating room environment is safe, equipment functions properly, and the operative procedures are conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. The Surgical Technologist Certified possesses expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic techniques, combining knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to assist the physician's performance of invasive therapeutic procedures.
ResponsibilitiesPerform all technical and physical functions and skills related to the job performance of an Operating Room Surgical Technologist.Communicate effectively under a variety of emotional situations.Clean and restock sterile core areas and Operating Rooms.Essential SkillsExpertise in Surgical Technology.Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.Additional Skills & QualificationsGraduation from an accredited school in an Operating Room Technician (ORT) or Surgical Technologist (ST) program.Ability to live within a 30-minute drive of Pleasant Prairie hospital.Work Environment
This position offers four openings, mostly during day shift hours, but may extend into evenings. An on-call rotation is required for evenings and weekends, with a typical work schedule from Monday to Friday. The hospital is a growing regional facility with aspirations of becoming a Level II Trauma Center, investing in staff training and development, and offering opportunities for continued education.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $47403.20 - $72488.00/yr.
