As a Surgical Technician in the Weekend Flex Program, you will provide surgical support by performing scrub duties and assisting with circulating responsibilities under the direction of a Registered Nurse while maintaining professional growth through ongoing formal and informal education. You will demonstrate a positive, compassionate, and patient-centered approach to care while contributing to a supportive healthcare environment dedicated to serving the community. This flexible schedule offers an excellent opportunity to balance personal time while delivering high-quality patient care. **A caregiver in this role works weekend days from 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Perform scrub functions. + Set up the sterile table and ensure appropriate supplies, drugs and equipment are available. + Assists RN in counting all sponges, instruments, etc. at appropriate times during surgery. + Assist in gowning and gloving surgical team members and draping patients. + Ensure aseptic condition is maintained by the scrubbed surgical team through the procedure. + Participate in the intraoperative 'timeout.' + Collect, identify and label specimens removed during surgical procedures and gives specimens to circulator for disposition. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Completion of a surgical technology program accredited through the CAAHEP or ABHES + **OR** completion of a military surgical technology program + **OR** certification as a Surgical Technologist (acceptable certifications for this route are TS-C (through the National Center for Competency Training) or CST (through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting). + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Surgical Technologist Certification from an accredited Surgical Technology Program **Physical Requirements:** + Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. + Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. + Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull, and navigate supply carts weighing > than 75 pounds periodically. + Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. + Requires working under stressful conditions of working irregular hours. + Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids. + Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. + Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work **Personal Protective Equipment:** + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. **Pay Range** Minimum hourly: $28.50 Maximum hourly: $39.00 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education.
