Job Summary and Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The incumbent is responsible for assisting the surgical team by acting as the primary scrub person who handles the instruments, supplies and equipment during surgical procedures. The incumbent maintains constant vigilance for the maintenance of the sterile field. In addition, the incumbent will serve as the scrub for OB/GYN cases in the department.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent requiredOne (1) year of recent experience as an operating room scrub technician in an acute care facility requiredGeneral understanding of anatomy and physiology, sterilization and surgical techniques requiredCurrent BLS required (must be certified through the American Heart Association)Preferred Qualifications:
Recent experience as a scrub technician and nursing assistant or unit secretary preferredGraduate of an accredited school of surgical technology preferredAdvanced organizational skills preferredWhere You'll WorkFor more than 70 years, Mercy Medical Center Redding has offered comprehensive health care in the North State, providing acute care and a full range of medical services.
