Surgical Enhanced Technologist - PRN

With 4 ORs, 2 Local Procedure rooms and 3 Endoscopy Suites, you'll have the opportunity to float between both locations, gaining diverse experience. Our dynamic programs include Orthopedic, Plastics, Oculoplastic ,Podiatry, GYN, Urology, Retinal, GI, Colorectal, and General services, providing a supportive setting for professional development.

 

This is a PRN Position working supplemental hours as needed. Days and hours will vary. No weekends, holidays, or call. 

Surgical Enhanced Technologists provide service and support before, during, and after surgical procedures. Assists in ensuring the presence and proper arrangement of surgical equipment, supplies and instrumentation in the operating room prior to each operation. Provides assistance to the surgeon in the operating room as allowed by professional and legal standards. Assists in the turnover of the operating room after the procedure ensuring proper routing and/or processing of all specimens, equipment, instrumentation and supplies. Works as a member of the surgical team with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel. Trains colleagues on various skills and tasks. Acts as a resource or mentor to colleagues with less experience.

This individual will work within a multi-specialty facility. Experience within multiple specialties is preferred. 

Requires a High School Diploma/GED.Requires certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist obtained from the NBSTSA.Requires Basic Life Support Certification.Must be an expert in advanced technology within specialty service. Examples include lasers, robotics, navigational technology, Implantable Electronic Devices (Pacemakers, VADs, VNS), etc.Requires documentation of 19 Contact Hours of Continuing Education.Requires knowledge of name and function of surgical equipment and instrumentation.Requires strict adherence to policies and regulations regarding maintenance of sterile field.Requires application and completion of selected documentation for review by each region's Surgical Technologist Steering Committee as well as an interview with the committee.Requires a minimum of 1 year OR experience in the Skilled Technologist role or relevant experience.
