Schedule: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays 7:30am-5pm, Fridays 7:30am-2pm, occasional Wednesdays 7:30am-2pm

Responsibilities:
Assist the surgeon with general anesthesia and IV sedation procedures.Obtain proper consent forms regarding surgery and update patient health history.Set up surgical suite based on the type of procedure being planned.Sterilize equipment and materials.Prepare patients by obtaining and recording vital signs.Inform patients of pre-op and post-op instructions.Provide diagnostic information through x-rays, dental impressions, and casts.Maintain patient's vital statistics and intravenous fluids during surgery.Document treatment by charting in patient's records.Pass surgical tools, prepare surgical dressings, and assist with sutures/debris removal.Ensure the patient does not breathe in fluids during the procedure through constant monitoring.Protect the patient’s lips, cheeks, and tongue from unnecessary injury.Help recover patients from sedation and anesthesia, ensuring they have a chaperone.Requirements:3-5 years of experience as a surgical dental assistantAbility to place IVsBLS/ACLS certificationX-Ray CertificationCertified dental assistant preferredWilling to take direction from oral surgeon/office managerThe ability to work in a fast-paced environmentDetail-orientedAccepting applications until we find the right candidate
