Job Title: Surgery Scheduler Location: Plano, Texas Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Job Type: Contract Position Overview We’re looking for a highly organized and proactive Surgery Scheduler to join our fast-paced clinical team. In this pivotal role, you’ll coordinate surgical procedures across multiple facilities, ensuring every detail—from insurance authorization to patient communication—is handled with precision and care. Key Responsibilities + Schedule surgeries across various locations with accuracy and efficiency + Communicate with patients to provide procedure details, pre-op instructions, and required documentation + Verify insurance coverage and secure authorizations for scheduled procedures + Coordinate with physicians, surgical teams, and insurance providers to confirm availability + Maintain surgical calendars, provider templates, and track pending cases, cancellations, and reschedules + Prepare and distribute surgical packets, ensuring all pre-op requirements are met + Handle administrative tasks including faxing, scanning, filing, and data entry + Collaborate with front office staff, medical assistants, and clinical providers to ensure seamless workflow What You Bring + Strong grasp of surgical scheduling workflows and medical terminology + Experience with EMR systems (Athena or similar platforms preferred) + Excellent communication, multitasking, and organizational skills + Prior experience in surgery scheduling or medical office coordination + Knowledge of insurance verification and authorization processes + Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting Work Environment You’ll be part of a supportive and collaborative team that values precision, empathy, and efficiency.
