Join a healthy team with great benefits! **Required Qualifications of the Surgery Procedure Scheduler/Medical Assistant** - 1+ years of recent surgery/procedure scheduling experience required - 1+ years of recent medical assistant experience required - Medical Assistant diploma or certification required - High school diploma or GED required - Must successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen **Job Summary for the Surgery Procedure Scheduler/Medical Assistant** Coordinate the schedules of physicians, operating rooms, anesthesiologists, equipment, lab work, and any other required items/staff in accordance with a physician's recommendation for patient care. Act as a liaison between the patient, provider/referring physician, primary care physician, and other parties involved in the surgery/procedure to include distribution of pre- and post-operative information to the patient. Gather and record financial and insurance information and ensure authorizations are obtained prior to the procedure/surgery. **Responsibilities of the Surgery Procedure Scheduler/Medical Assistant** - Assist with obtaining vital signs and patient history - Document chief complaint and all actions taken - Alert physician of problems, concerns, and abnormalities - Assist physicians, residents, and licensed nursing personnel - Set up exam/procedure rooms including instruments for minor procedures - Perform simple patient procedures - Prepare and administer medications (excluding IV) under direct supervision of a physician - Obtain lab specimen and fill out requisitions completely and accurately - Coordinate the workflow of MAs when necessary - Obtain authorization for referrals - Conduct front desk duties such as registration, check-in, and scheduling of patients **About the Company** This well-known and successful healthcare system has remained a symbol of quality for nearly 40 years.
