Surgeon Relations Director, Foot & Ankle

We are committed to creating an environment where every team member feels included, respected, empowered and recognised. **What You Can Expect** The Surgeon Relations Director, Foot & Ankle is responsible for leading and managing Paragon 28’s strategic engagement with surgeons in foot & ankle surgery, trauma, and related specialties. This role ensures all surgeon relations activities—including advisory roles, clinical collaborations, and educational partnerships—are executed in a compliant, ethical, and strategically aligned manner. The Director will partner cross-functionally with Medical Education, Clinical Affairs, R&D, Legal/Compliance, Marketing, and Commercial teams to strengthen relationships with surgeon leaders while ensuring contracting, budgeting, and reporting requirements meet regulatory and internal policy standards. **How You'll Create Impact** + Lead development and execution of Paragon 28’s surgeon engagement strategy, aligning activities with business, clinical, and educational priorities. + Identify, map, and maintain a network of surgeons and academic leaders who contribute to device development, clinical evidence generation, and peer-to-peer education. + Manage advisory planning and execution, including logistics, contracting, compliance oversight, and post-interaction follow-up. + Oversee all surgeon-related contracting, sponsorships, grants, and other engagements, ensuring full compliance with federal regulations (including the Sunshine Act and FDA guidelines), industry codes (AdvaMed), and internal policies of Paragon 28 and Zimmer Biomet; proactively identify and mitigate compliance risks throughout the engagement lifecycle. + Act as a strategic liaison between Business and Compliance functions, managing the end-to-end contracting process and ensuring surgeon onboarding and engagement activities are conducted in accordance with applicable legal, regulatory, and ethical standards. + Collaborate closely with Legal and Compliance teams to review and approve surgeon agreements, educational content, and promotional initiatives; ensure all activities are aligned with regulatory requirements, anti-kickback statutes, transparency obligations, and company compliance frameworks. + Serve as liaison with Legal and Regulatory (MLR) teams for compliant review of educational and engagement materials. + Collaborate with Marketing and Events teams to integrate surgeon activities into workshops and scientific meetings, including development of speaker programs and symposia. + Manage budgets and financial reporting for surgeon engagements, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and cost efficiency. + Maintain ongoing awareness of competitive activity, therapeutic trends, and regulatory changes impacting surgeon engagement. + Always ensure ethical and compliant interactions with healthcare professionals, in line with AdvaMed Code of Ethics and Zimmer Biomet policy. + Other duties as assigned. **Your Background** **Qualifications** + Minimum 8+ years of progressive experience in surgeon relations management, medical affairs, clinical operations, or compliance in the medical device or life sciences industry. + Strong knowledge of FDA regulations, Sunshine Act, AdvaMed Code, PhRMA guidelines, and other healthcare compliance standards. + Demonstrated ability to develop, manage, and execute complex surgeon engagement plans and advisory programs. + Proven experience handling contracts, budgets, and financial reconciliation. + Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence surgeon leaders and internal stakeholders at all levels. + Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills with attention to detail. + Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating across functions. + Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) + Willingness and ability to travel extensively (as required). **Work Environment** : This position is remote. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, copiers and phones. **Physical Demands** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. + Must be able to move about event sites, medical congresses, and training locations. + May be required to assist with meeting and event logistics, which can include moving materials up to 30 lbs. independently. **Position Type/Expected Hours of Work** This is a full-time position with variable hours based on surgeon engagement schedules and business needs **Travel Expectations** Position requires approximately 75% overnight travel. **Compensation Data** Salary Range: $123,000 - $188,000 with 15% bonus eligibility **Physical Requirements** EOE/M/F/Vet/Disability
