**Surface Prep Technician** Manufacturing Dallas, TX, US Pay Rate Low: 18 | Pay Rate High: 18 + Added - 07/08/2025 Apply for Job **Job Title:** Surface Preparation Technician **Location:** Mansfield, TX **Schedule:** Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM (OT as needed) **Pay:** $18/hour **Type:** Contract to Hire **Overview:** Join a motivated production team responsible for preparing specialty piping and tubes for chemical treatment in the oilfield industry. As a Surface Preparation Technician, you'll play a critical role in cleaning operations to ensure materials are ready for the plating process. **Key Responsibilities:** + Prepare the cleaning area daily by checking equipment, supplies, and solution temperatures + Load/unload production racks and prep each load for cleaning + Perform cleaning procedures per company protocols and quality standards + Maintain and restock cleaning equipment (hoses, brushes, air drills, etc.) + Assist with acid/alkaline tank maintenance and solution replenishment + Support plating team with post-plating tasks or rework when needed + Keep work area clean, organized, and safe at all times + Communicate effectively with Cleaning Lead and team about progress, issues, or needs + Report any safety hazards, spills, or incidents to the Safety Manager + Perform other duties as assigned by department leads or the Production Manager **Requirements:** + High School Diploma or GED Required + Ability to read and write in English, including hazardous labels + Capable of repetitive lifting (up to 150 lbs. with partner; average 40–60 lbs.) + Frequent standing, walking, stooping, and climbing throughout the shift + Comfortable working independently and as part of a team + Must be able to operate a forklift and overhead hoist/crane + Strong attendance and punctuality required + Visual inspection skills for identifying small defects + Must understand and follow safety rules and protocols + Willingness to work overtime and extended shifts as needed **Note:** Not all skills are required to apply.
