Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case. **Summary:** The Assistant Mgr, Environmental Services is responsible for the effective supervision of daily and area specific Environmental Services activities. Serves and first level escalation point for issues/concerns, and monitors the daily work outcomes for EVS Specialist. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures. **Other information:** **Required Job Qualifications:** • High school diploma or GED equivalent. • Three (3) years professional operations management experience. **Preferred Job Qualifications:** • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or related discipline **Physical Demands:** • Ability to lift **Competencies:** • Supervisory skills necessary to plan, organize, direct and control the activities of front line associates. Service/quality mentality and attitude. • Effective organizational and time management skills. • Mental ability to provide excellent judgment for problem solving related to the performance of associates' coordination of activities related to Patient Transportation Services; enforcement of policies and emergency or stressful situations. • Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to interact motivate and communicate with a wide range of staff and hospital personnel in a professional manner; guest relations skills must be strong, genuine and noticeable. Responsible for the effective supervision of daily and area specific Environmental Services activities. 3. Ensures accurate and timely delivery of patients, specimens, bloods, equipment, and other patient-related items; ensures maximum staff productivity. 4. Resolves problems related to patient, visitor, staff, or employee complaints. 5. Maintains a safe, healthy, and pleasant work environment for staff and patients; ensures dispatch and transport equipment is safe and in good, clean working condition; 6. Provides and maintains adequate levels of supplies and equipment. 7. Ensures compliance with policies and procedures for departmental operations are adhered to. 8. Ensures the delivery of quality and timely service to patients, physicians, visitors, and staff. 9. Schedules paid time off and other benefit time; 10. Ensures adherence to departmental staffing guidelines on a daily basis; 11. Responsible for maintaining appropriate staffing levels; ensures accuracy of all appropriate records and time sheets. 12. Assists with managing compliance with the standard universal and disease-specific precautions and the OSHA blood borne pathogen standard; works to comply with all federal and state regulatory agencies. 13. Ensures that public areas are appropriately sanitized to project a strong positive image. 14. Communicates pertinent policy & procedure information to ensure compliance to infection control and sanitation standards. 15. Other duties as assigned and/or required.
