Job SummaryThe Supervisor of Histology manages the daily operations of the Histopathology Laboratory. This includes ensuring regulatory and safety requirements are met. Supervises staff, including work assignments, hiring/termination, performance reviews, orientation, and professional development.
Essential Functions of the RoleSupervises the daily functions of the histopathology laboratory to ensure it runs efficiently.Prepares schedules, coordinates job assignments, and monitors personnel including the selection, orientation, training, assignments, evaluations, discipline, and discharge of employees.Oversees equipment maintenance records and schedules preventative maintenance for equipment including microscopes, microtones, strainers, ovens, and cryostats.Assist with budgeting. Provide information about supplies, personnel, and equipment. Seek avenues of cost containment.
