Transportation is responsible for the movement of materials and products between suppliers, manufacturing, warehousing, and customers. This includes managing transportation assets and systems to improve service, reduce costs, and optimize logistics processes.
The Transportation Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring operational excellence by aligning team efforts with business goals, supporting freight pay and delivery performance, and ensuring timely delivery tracking and case response. The role also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and customer satisfaction through data-driven decision-making and cross-functional collaboration.

Oversee core transportation functions including freight pay auditing, delivery performance monitoring, delivery tracking, and case response management.Supervise daily transportation operations, ensuring timely communication of delivery updates and resolution of service issues.Ensure timely and accurate case response to customer inquiries, escalations, and service disruptions.Develop and implement KPIs to measure team and individual performance, aligned with business goals.Design and monitor incentive programs to drive accountability, engagement, and high performance.Streamline and automate tracking and reporting processes to reduce manual workload and improve data accuracy.Provide administrative support in invoice auditing, shipment overrides, and data maintenance in freight pay systems.Monitor and manage team workload, ensuring timely responses to customer service inquiries and courier escalations.Collaborate with Transportation Engineers, couriers, and internal teams to resolve delivery issues and improve service.Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.Conduct regular team meetings and one-on-ones to align on priorities, provide coaching, and address performance.Prepare and present reports on team performance, delivery metrics, and process improvements to leadership.Support onboarding and training of new team members and promote knowledge sharing across the team.Identify and escalate systemic issues with recommended solutions and lead root cause analysis efforts.Partner with IT and process owners to support system enhancements and automation opportunities.Coordinate with finance and operations to ensure accurate billing, cost allocation, and budget tracking.Maintain and update documentation, SOPs, and training materials to reflect current processes and best practices.Track and report on courier and carrier performance, including on-time delivery and service failures.Perform ad-hoc reporting and support internal audits as needed.Support business continuity planning and execution during service disruptions or peak periods.Transportation Procurement area additional work:
Tracking and directing interested carriers to fill out a carrier interest formReview interest forms and build carrier profile and ensure contacts are up to dateSending out NDAs when initial conversations occur and/or when RFP process begins.Uploading contracts into the defined database or systemTrack contract expiration dates and highlight to Procurement team for actionAssist Procurement team with carrier on-time deliveries and departures and late reason codes. Provide summary of issues that are observed to carrier.Transfer routing adjustments to help make rate changesGroup mailbox managementQualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred.3–5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role.Strong understanding of courier networks, freight pay systems, and transportation billing.Proficient in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, IF statements) and Outlook.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Ability to build strong collaborative relationships and communicate effectively in English.Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a remote or hybrid environment.High personal integrity, ethics, and a customer-centric mindset.Available to work 8:00 am–5:00 pm EST.Candidates who are back-to-work, people with disabilities, without a college degree, and Veterans are encouraged to apply.
