Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SUPPORT SYSTEMS SUPERVISOR, Position Description Number D1695000 part of the KS 184 Intelligence Wing, National Guard. Responsibilities As a SUPPORT SYSTEMS SUPERVISOR, WS-5801-10, you supervise workers on a day-to-day or project-by-project basis, either directly or through one or more subordinate leaders, in accomplishing the work operations of the organizational segment or work shift and to perform associated non-supervisory work. The occupation and grade level that best reflects the nature of the overall work operations supervised is Vehicle Maintenance and Powered Support Systems, WG-10. Perform other duties assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: E7 through E8 Compatible Military Assignments: 3EXXX *Must be willing and able to cross train into the compatible AFSC GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates knowledge of equipment to be able to do routine jobs, simple preventative maintenance tasks, and can use common tools and equipment in the line of work. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience or training diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and modifying more complex vehicles, equipment, and more complicated systems. Experience which has provided a thorough knowledge of diagnostic equipment. Experience applying independent judgment in determining methods and techniques required to solve unusually complex maintenance and repair problems. Experienced in testing, inspecting, and evaluating the work performed on vehicles, equipment and systems. In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Works in tiring, awkward, and uncomfortable positions. Frequently stands for long periods of time. Bends, stoops, crawls under vehicles and makes repairs in tight places. Frequently lifts, handles, and carries parts and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds. Occasionally moves moderately heavy items with assistance or with mechanical devices including objects weighing over 40 pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is usually performed inside on concrete surfaces where there is exposure to drafts, noise and fumes from vehicles. Occasionally performs work outside under adverse weather conditions. Continually exposed to dirt, dust, and grease, and to the potential for burns, chemical irritations, shocks, bruises, cuts, and strains. To reduce dangers and irritations from these conditions, follows prescribed safety practices and uses safety equipment such as safety shoes and glasses, and respirators.
