Support Engineer, AVM, AWS Security, Amazon Vulnerability Management
Amazon is seeking a Support Engineer to join the AVM (AWS Vulnerability Management) organization. Our organization is accountable for the end-to-end software vulnerability lifecycle across all aspects of AWS. We are responsible for building the platform that monitors intelligence, detects vulnerabilities, drives remediation response, and drives innovation to meet the scale and demand of all AWS customers. Working with teams such as EC2, S3, RDS, CloudHSM, Containers, and Amazon Linux requires us to dive deep into all aspects of first- and third-party software across AWS including Operating Systems, firmware, databases, service/system hardening, cryptography, and audit analysis. We are passionate about diving deep to identify and build solutions that keep our customers safe.

Key job responsibilities
As a vulnerability management support engineer you will be primarily responsible for working with AWS internal services through a variety of contact channels which include telephone, email, and web/live chat. You will apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide solutions for our service teams on how to remediate vulnerabilities. You will find ways to improve and automate our existing services, and provide escalation and mentoring for junior team members. The right candidate for this position has a strong technical background in systems administration that allows them to approach any problem with confidence and ingenuity. They must be a "lifelong learner", embracing the rapid innovations in technology and understanding how to leverage them to continue to improve our products. They will be customer-obsessed, always looking to understand customer pain points and find resolution quickly and completely. They will be passionate about finding innovative solutions, and work proactively to solve potential problems and inefficiencies. And they must be able to communicate clearly and collaborate with others to deliver results with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate is one who loves working directly with software developers and system administrators to support and provide remediation guidance of vulnerabilities while understanding their needs and services.
