Supply Chain Technician
Job Summary: The Supply Chain Technician facilitates inventory management for the Surgical Services areas by; forecasting and managing inventory levels; restock, pick; distribute disposable medical supplies within Surgical Services core and unit suites; enable point of use interface to decrement inventory levels based on real time usage through scanning and maintenance of OR procedure cards to current standards. Essential Responsibilities: This description is for recruitment posting purposes only. It has not received full HR review and approval. Inventory Management: Enable point of use system to decrement inventory levels based on real time usage documented on procedure cards. - Utilize One Link queries and excel reports to identify savings opportunities. - Order and put away supplies rotating stock via FIFO inventory method. - Fills requisitions for stock in storage areas. - Conduct physical inventory or cycle counts as scheduled. - Maintains optimal stocking levels in the OR and ASU suites. - Inform staff of product conversions and substitutions. - Label and organize storage areas. - Review and submit inventory requisition for replenishment. - Escalate and solve supply issues with Supply Chain partners involving clinicians as needed. - Identify and edit entries for products without GS1 codes. - Manage both POU asset inventory and expensed PAR inventory to optimal levels to improve turns, reduce expiration and overstock. - Cost Savings: Deliver against targeted savings goals in spend, cost-per-case, and inventory turnover, within the scope of responsibility of this classification. - Perform inventory analysis to manage company assets at the appropriate level to meet the critical needs of Surgical Services in support of patient care. - Procedure Card Maintenance: Reconcile and maintain Supply Lists within procedure cards in Health Connect to ensure standardization and data integrity. - Partner with Business Operations team on Optimization event activity - Execute product implementation, substitution, deletion and recall management within Procedure cards. - Assure periodic Procedure Card clean-up management. - Collaborate with Business Operations, Operations Techs, Nurses and Clinicians on all executed changes. - Case Picking/Preparation: Pick supply material for cases in coordination with MSD/Operations. - Monitor schedule and pick add-on cases. - Partner with Surgical Services leads to assist and make recommendations for process improvements that will continue to support their changing needs by attending daily huddles and team meetings. - Utilize forecasting tools (e.g. surgical schedule) to prepare for upcoming usage. - Follows all infection control precautions for PPE, packaging and storage requirements, workflow patterns, dress code, and sterility assurance. - Dons protective equipment as required. - Participates in all competency programs, attends meetings and trainings as required. - Adheres to all policies and protocols in the use of HealthConnect and OneLink Systems. Ensure all products that have an expiration date of 30 days or less away are pulled from use, tracked, and disposition. - Ensures sterile product integrity. - Ensure proper documentation is maintained per SOX requirements. - Performs other duties as requested within Supply Chain scope. Basic Qualifications: Experience Experience • Two (2) years inventory control experience. • One (1) year materials management experience. • One (1) year customer service experience. • Six (6) months of combined experience managing supplies in a perioperative environment (Ambulatory Surgery Unit or Operating Room). • Required six (6) months of experience operating a Supply Chain inventory management system. Education + • High School Diploma or GED required. License, Certification, Registration + N/A Additional Requirements: + • Demonstrated Proficiency with use of Inventory Management, communication, and analytical applications (e.g. Excel, HealthConnect, OneLink). + • Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently, and critical thinking skills while managing multiple priorities in a busy environment with frequent interruptions/time demands yet complete assignments on-time. + • Effective time management skills. + • Effective problem solving skills; identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully, develops alternative solutions. + • Demonstrated customer service skills. + • Demonstrated written Communication skills; Writes clearly and informatively, reads, interprets, and retains written information. + • Demonstrated face to face communication; Listens and gets clarification to ensure instructions and requests are fully understood by all parties. Preferred Qualifications: + • One (1) year of supply management experience in a hospital or ambulatory care setting. + • Two (2) years of purchasing/materials management/Sterile Processing/Scrub tech experience. + • Associates degree or higher. + • Medical Terminology fluency. + • Proficiency with data analysis and interpretation with Excel. Notes: + Backfill role to cover core employees for pre-scheduled, next-day & same-day support for SCTI in three geo areas.
