Job Description

The Supply Chain Project Manager leads strategic sourcing and supply chain resilience initiatives across aerospace and defense programs. This role focuses on supplier diversification, risk mitigation, and complex supplier transitions while driving cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Operations, and Program Management. The position offers the opportunity to make a measurable impact by reducing single-source dependencies, developing new supplier partnerships, and optimizing overall supply chain performance in a highly technical, mission-critical environment.

ResponsibilitiesLead and execute strategic projects that reduce dependency on single and sole source suppliers and improve overall supply chain agility and resilience.Identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain risks across aerospace and defense programs in partnership with Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Customer Service, and Program Management.Evaluate, assess, and develop new suppliers to ensure alignment with aerospace quality standards and regulatory requirements, including AS9100 and ITAR.Manage end-to-end project delivery for complex supplier transitions, including detailed project planning, schedule and milestone management, risk assessment, and mitigation planning.Drive clear and consistent stakeholder communication throughout supplier transitions, ensuring that expectations, timelines, and risks are well understood across the organization.Conduct thorough supplier capability assessments and technical reviews to confirm that potential suppliers can meet specifications, capacity needs, and quality requirements.Oversee the complete onboarding process for new supply partners, including qualification activities, documentation, and integration into existing systems and processes.Analyze cost structures, lead times, logistics data, and other sourcing metrics to support strategic sourcing decisions and make-versus-buy analyses.Develop and refine sourcing strategies that optimize cost, quality, delivery, and risk across PCB/PCBA, electromechanical, and build-to-print commodities.Use ERP/MRP systems to manage supply chain data, track material flows, and support project planning and execution.Facilitate cross-functional reviews and present clear, concise project updates, recommendations, and status reports to senior leadership and key stakeholders.Track, monitor, and report on key project metrics, including cost reduction, lead time improvement, supply continuity, and supplier performance during and after transitions.Collaborate with internal teams to continuously improve supplier management processes, qualification standards, and sourcing strategies.Leverage project management tools and methodologies to ensure that initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.Perform special projects and tasks as assigned to support broader supply chain, sourcing, and operational improvement goals.Essential Skills5+ years of experience in supply chain, strategic sourcing, operations, or engineering, preferably in aerospace or high-tech manufacturing environments.Strong experience managing complex, cross-functional projects in a supply chain or manufacturing context.Deep understanding of supplier management and strategic sourcing strategies, including supplier qualification, development, and performance management.Knowledge of aerospace and defense industry practices, including supplier qualification processes, regulatory compliance, and quality systems.Familiarity with regulatory standards such as AS9100 and ITAR.Hands-on experience working with PCB/PCBA or electromechanical components and build-to-print manufacturing environments.Exposure to ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Infor, or similar platforms.Proficiency in end-to-end project management within a supply chain environment, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams in technical and manufacturing environments.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret cost, lead time, and logistics data to drive strategic sourcing decisions.Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite for analysis, reporting, and presentations.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and progressive experience in purchasing or supply chain.Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.Proven track record of leading complex supply chain projects with measurable outcomes in cost, delivery, or risk reduction.Experience working with electromechanical systems, PCB/PCBA suppliers, and build-to-print commodities.Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies; PMP certification or equivalent formal project management training is a plus.Experience using Jira or similar project tracking tools is a plus.Experience in aerospace or defense industry environments is highly beneficial.Knowledge of additional relevant regulatory or quality standards beyond AS9100 and ITAR is advantageous.Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build effective relationships with internal teams and external suppliers.Comfort working in a culture that emphasizes ownership, transparency, process improvement, trust, and respect.Work Environment

This is an onsite role based in an office and manufacturing support environment, working five days per week with core business hours typically from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for the supply chain function. The position involves frequent use of personal computers, ERP/MRP systems, databases, digital platforms, and standard office productivity equipment such as printers and copiers. The role requires regular use of hands, fingers, and arms to handle equipment, materials, and computer interfaces, as well as frequent movement within the office. Close vision and the ability to adjust focus are needed for detailed work on screens, documents, and technical data. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $117300.00 - $158700.00/yr.
