Job DescriptionTo effectively manage the planning, scheduling, and coordination of products throughout the production and shipping cycle. This includes establishing and optimizing production schedules, managing supplier lead times, safety stocks, and minimum order quantities (MOQs), and overseeing purchase order and inventory management—including slow-moving and non-inventory items.
Lead and evaluate the Supply Planning and Scheduling teams.Develop production planning strategies to support customer demand.Translate business forecasts into actionable sourcing and manufacturing plans.Improve supplier on-time delivery and purchase order accuracy.Optimize inventory levels and reduce material management costs.Work closely with Engineering, Technical Purchasing, and Supplier Quality teams to ensure supplier capability.Participate in operational decision-making as part of the operations team.Manage and motivate the team to meet business objectives aligned with the strategic plan.Prepare and manage department budget within established guidelines.QualificationsDegree in Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.Proven leadership experience in supply chain or materials management.Experience in a manufacturing environment with annual revenue of £80M+ and material spend of £40M+.Experience in a manufacturing environment with high number of SKU’s and high variability of customer demandStrong background in supplier and production planning.Experience in matrix environments and financial decision-making.Knowledge of LEAN activities and continuous improvement methodologies.Proven ability to manage high-performing teams and implement solutionsAdditional InformationA range of benefits are available including employee discounts, various sports and health opportunities, on-site parking
