In this global role, you’ll work with teams around the world to deliver data-driven insights and improve operational performance.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for the supply chain and Materials Planning / Asset of one or more global semiconductor suppliers.
They will be empowered to ensure that service level agreements are met to the very highest level of supplier and customer satisfaction whilst ensuring the Avnet engagement is run profitably.
They will govern supplier MRP, focusing on demand planning, segregated material flow and inventory management, risk mitigation, working capital and financial profitability.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: key point of contact for global suppliers/component manufactures, close working with Program Management (customer facing) Teams, Sales and Operational Management on the tactical execution of the overall engagement, along with handling various administrative tasks linked to the daily business.
Fundamental to this role is a very strong eye for accuracy, with excellent organisational skills, and a logical approach to responsibilities. We value those who drive innovation and automation and are prepared to grow and evolve in line with the needs of our customers.

Overall responsibility and lead for and Materials Planning / Asset at a Supplier levelDefine, review and sets up MRP strategy in line with program frameworks.Day to day management of MRP signals on ERP (SAP) eg new purchase orders, pull in, push out, cancel.Escalation / Exception / Issue ManagementPrimary contact point for supplier(s) global customer service teamsManagement of expedites for short term supply issues.Urgent Inbound requests into our warehouses.Manages the mid-long range supply chain in close collaboration with our Program Management (Customer facing) Team.Analyses long term Supply Chain Health, flagging and escalating possible problems before they impact service.Responsible for Key Performance Indicators and monitoring daily service indicators (blocks, case management).Has a deep comprehension of our customised reporting & analytics, and can support on liability validation.Works closely with Account Managers, Operational Management, Logistic Teams, and other Avnet departments with EMEA and worldwide.Ensures Avnet adheres strongly to quality standards and supports customers in quality topics (both technical and process quality issues)Builds strong Internal relationships across our Avnet EMEA and Global Teams.Participates and contributes in Operations Meetings.What will you need to have?
An understanding of planning (supply and demand), inventory management and production cycles.A great eye for accuracy in data and systems. Errors can be very expensive.Strong in Excel but programming or macro skills are not essential.Experience of ERP/MRP systems and appropriate planning (SAP preferred)Proactive and comfortable under pressure – it’s a fast-moving business, with some high-level escalation calls and meetings.Good people skills both internally and externally – we build strong relationships to be a trusted reliable partner.Able to influence teams internally, plus calm and reassure suppliers externally with a clear communication style - help others understand the complicated supply chain world.Why Avnet?
