Supports Caterpillar Enterprise Capacity Requirement (ECR) process by performing advanced analysis to identify, evaluate, and develop long-term capacity strategies for both suppliers and manufacturing facilities. The role requires strong experience in capacity analysis across both manufacturing operations and supplier networks, ensuring alignment with Caterpillar prime product and enterprise strategy by assessing supply base readiness, facility capability, and capacity to meet future demand.

What You Will Do:
Analyze and develop long-term capacity planning strategies for suppliers and facilities to ensure alignment with Caterpillar’s strategic demand requirements.
• Identifying, defining, leading implementation of integrated supply chain solutions and performance improvements, including building internal and external alliances to explore opportunities.
• Establishing and strengthening effective linkages, partnerships, and best practices with business partners and internal functions.
• Investigating and incorporating industry benchmarks, metrics and best practices to develop optimal supply chains for suppliers and/or product sets.
• Leads the development and analyzes data and information to identify and prioritize opportunities for improving performance and creating more cost-effective supply chains, inventory utilization, and business partnerships.

Education Requirement:
Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.

What You Will Have:
Business Process Improvement

Applies scenario modeling and long-term strategic planning to optimize capacity planning processes for both manufacturing and supplier networks.Recommends advanced technology solutions (e.g., Power BI, Excel modeling) to improve demand-supply balancing and operational efficiency.Leads cross-functional workshops to align stakeholders on process changes and overcome resistance to new planning approaches.

Analytical Thinking

Uses advanced Excel and Power BI to identify supply-demand gaps and quantify risks, costs, and benefits of planning decisions.Breaks down complex capacity challenges into actionable components, enabling rapid day-one readiness.Applies forecasting and supply chain analytics to support strategic decision-making across regions.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking

Evaluates multiple planning scenarios and validates assumptions using data-driven insights from manufacturing and supplier operations.Advises leadership on capacity trade-offs and recommends consultative or consensus-based decision approaches.Predicts the impact of planning decisions on long-term supply chain performance and stakeholder alignment.

Supply Chain Management – MFG

Manages end-to-end supply chain processes with a focus on capacity planning across heavy equipment, automotive, and industrial manufacturing sectors.Advises on regional capacity issues and collaborates cross-functionally to ensure alignment between demand forecasts and production capabilities.Participates in joint planning sessions with suppliers and internal teams to design scalable and resilient supply chain strategies.Certifications in APICS CPIM, CSCP, or Six Sigma/Lean preferred.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

Advanced degree (MBA, MS in Supply Chain/Operations)Global or regional capacity planning experience across Asia, Europe, or North AmericaHands-on proficiency with advanced Excel, Power BI, Word, and other analytical tools relevant to capacity planningPrior leadership exposure through leading workshops, cross-functional projects, or supplier reviews

Summary Pay Range:

$110,520.00 - $165,840.00
