We are seeking a proactive and skilled Materials Manager to lead procurement, planning, and inventory management processes. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills and will excel in implementing and leveraging ERP systems to enhance quality control and establish a robust Quality Management System (QMS). This role requires creating an approved supplier list, processing warranty claims, reviewing scrap and defects, and developing quality procedures. Conducting first article inspections is also a key responsibility.
ResponsibilitiesLead procurement and planning efforts.Manage and mentor a team, fostering a collaborative environment.Implement MRP within the current ERP system to streamline operations.Enhance quality control measures and create a Quality Management System (QMS).Develop and maintain an approved supplier list (ASL).Process warranty claims efficiently.Review scrap and defects to identify areas for improvement.Create and enforce quality procedures.Conduct first article inspections to ensure compliance with standards.
Essential Skills5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations and supply chain management in a design-build environment.Strong troubleshooting skills, particularly in electrical schematics.Engineering knowledge of machined and fabricated parts, as well as machinery and electrical assembly practices.Previous management experience, ideally 5+ years, but flexible for the right candidate.Background in procurement and/or planning.
Additional Skills & QualificationsUnderstanding of lean practices and methodologies.Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
Work Environment
The position is based in a clean and climate-controlled facility. The company is expanding to a larger facility soon, providing more room for growth. You will start by managing a team of approximately six people with plans to expand. You will have a QA person reporting to you, and experience in process management within a startup or growing company is desirable. The company uses WMS software, with flexibility on the brand. This role requires ownership and growth of the department, focusing on procuring new parts rather than reordering the same items. The company offers a balance between a family-owned business feel and the robust resources of a larger corporate entity, with ample opportunities for growth and development in the automation industry.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
