Supply Chain Manager

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution; This position requires an appropriate engineering or business degree or equivalent, coupled with manufacturing and supply chain experience.  7 years of supply chain experience Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor of Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics or Finance Incumbent must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.  For this position to be successful, the incumbent must also possess a high degree of people skills as he/she must motivate and influence others including those not under his/her direct supervision.

Job Dimensions:
Under the direction of the North American Supply Chain Manager, this position is accountable for:

Coordinating across Cleveland sites to most effectively utilize scrap, ingot, and production capacity. Optimize Cleveland flow path to minimize cost, working capital, and customer delivery risk. Support inventory management within all manufacturing plants/outside sources within the Cleveland flow path to align inventory with business needs. Manage logistics movements between manufacturing plants/outside sources within the Cleveland flow path. Develop and implement the overall Supply Chain strategy of Cleveland flow path to align with organizational goals. 

Major Activities & Key Challenges:

The principal challenge of this position is quickly adapting to demand changes and adapting the Cleveland flow path  to quickly respond to these changes in a manner that minimizes cost, working capital, and customer delivery risk. This position typically provides informal leadership across the entire Cleveland flow path  for detailed production planning, supply chain management and logistics functions. The exact reporting relationships and number of employees supervised change based on business needs and organization design. The incumbent shall take such steps as necessary to assure that all employment practices under his/her control, including hiring, firing, promotions, and discipline, are conducted in a nondiscriminatory fashion and without regard to race, sex, religion, national origin, age or physical disability.  Incumbent recognizes that accident prevention is equal to quality, production, delivery, and cost control and accepts the responsibility to work safety while promoting safety conscious among fellow employees.

Environment, Health & Safety Requirements: 

This position reports directly to the North America Supply Chain Manager  This position provides (i.e. support to organization, service, etc.) Marketing, sales, warranty, quality, production and engineering. Internal contacts and external contacts include: HWS BU and business management, regional management, including location management of facilities worldwide, Management personnel of other Howmet Business units and Resource units, and management representatives of suppliers and customers.
