Our client, a growing company in Vancouver’s food industry, is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to oversee the organization’s end-to-end supply chain operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the consistent availability of materials, efficient logistics, and strong vendor partnerships. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Supply Chain Manager will lead a team while coordinating procurement, production planning, inventory, and distribution strategies to meet company goals.
Supply Chain Manager responsibilities:
Operational Oversight Lead day-to-day supply chain activities including purchasing, inventory control, logistics, and demand planning. Develop and implement strategies to optimize efficiency, minimize delays, and reduce costs across the supply chain. Track key performance indicators, analyze trends, and recommend improvements to strengthen operational effectiveness. Manage supplier relationships, negotiate terms, and ensure on-time delivery of goods that meet quality standards. Coordinate with production, sales, and other internal departments to align supply chain plans with business needs. Team & Vendor Management Supervise and support supply chain staff, ensuring clear communication, accountability, and performance development. Promote a collaborative team environment with a focus on process improvement and continuous learning. Monitor vendor performance and ensure that supplier agreements support service, cost, and quality expectations. Process Improvement & Compliance Review and refine internal supply chain procedures to enhance efficiency and scalability. Maintain documentation, reports, and metrics to support compliance and audit readiness. Ensure adherence to industry regulations, particularly as they relate to food safety, transportation, and storage. Identify and implement technology solutions and process upgrades that improve visibility and control across the supply chain.
The successful candidate has: 5+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or procurement, with at least 2 years in a leadership role A degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Strong analytical and organizational skills, with a solutions-oriented mindset Excellent interpersonal and negotiation abilities Experience in the food industry or with perishable goods (considered an asset) Familiarity with health, safety, and regulatory compliance standards Proven ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and manage multiple projects under tight timelines
