Job Description Consultant shall provide technical training on power transformers including: • Transformer Bid Events & Blanket Agreements o Slotting Document and how to conduct meeting with Planning o Communicate with Planning when project releases are needed for POs to be issued on time • Fundamentals of Transformer Design & Operation – High level coverage of core construction, winding configurations, and nameplate ratings o Common voltage classes, MVA ratings, LTC vs non LTC, Power Transformers / Autobanks / Single Phase vs Three Phase • Lifecyle of Transformer – How it pertains to payment schedule o PO, Drawing Approval, Major Equipment Order, Factory Acceptance Test, Delivery • Testing, Inspection & Maintenance Practices – Discuss Factory Acceptance Test, Hang Test, DGA (dissolved gas analysis), oil testing, and what maintenance looks for. • Delivery & Installation – Train on how power transformers are shipped, then filled with oil and dressed out on site; and considerations for handling oil and equipment (bushings, arresters, cabinets).
