Where is the work:  On-Site (5 days) our Grand Rapids, Michigan facility or this position can be located at any approved Trane Technologies Hub and requires up to 80% travel. 

 

The role plays a vital role in leading Supplier Development Materials Managers in minimizing material shortages and production downtime by monitoring material inflow and outflow. Oversees supplier inventories, monitors supplier inventory levels, and analyses supplier tooling and resources capacity and the effects on Trane Technologies SBU inventory levels. Drives supplier process and systemic material flow improvements using Lean Opex tools to prevent material shortages and to promote supply chain continuity. Assists in the selection and implementation of Trane Technologies supplier sourcing strategies to ensure high quality, on-time delivery, and cost competitiveness. Position is responsible for effective execution of the Capacity Demonstration Review and provides Root Cause Corrective Actions to determines appropriate stock levels by monitoring control over the volume of raw materials, parts in process and finished products. Ensures supply of raw materials and components to Trane Technologies facilities has appropriate inventory levels and records the entry of finished products to the corresponding Trane Technologies plant.

 

 

What you will do: 

 

Interacts frequently with cross-functional teams to resolve delayed supplier shipments and component shortages.

Determines appropriate stock levels by maintaining control over the volume of raw materials, parts in process and finished products.

 Coordinates cyclical recounting of materials and reconciliation of actual inventories against system records.

Ensures supply of raw materials and components to production areas and records the entry of finished products to the corresponding warehouse.

 Conducts assessments, in support of new sourcing, to determine if a supplier’s quality systems, installed capacity and environmental policies meet Trane Technologies’ expectations.

 Leads initial Supplier orientation, provides on-boarding training as required.

Evaluates supplier’s production specifications and supplier’s plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes and calculate machine and operator loads.

 Drives process and systemic capacity improvements, at assigned supplier sites, through the use of Lean and Opex tools and validates improvements through defined measurables to reduce gaps due to material and labor shortages.

 Prepares, distributes, and communicates periodic Supplier performance status and risk assessments to regional leadership as required.

 Works to actively deploy Trane Technologies’ defined Supplier Development Procedures, Processes, and work instructions within the region.

 Work internally with plants & category to define the problem (9-step box 1-3?) prior to supplier visit

Provide on-site support at Supplier location.

Complete the Supply Chain Assessment (SCA) standard work.

Develop corrective action list with Supplier to improve SCA score as needed.

Partner with supplier to use appropriate tools to identify gaps and root causes (fishbone, 5-whys, 8D, etc.)

Collaborate with Supplier to develop Recovery Plan by day/week.

 Provide internal communication to stakeholders on current status for suppliers on a daily/weekly basis.

 Provide problem solving support to suppliers during recovery process.

 Escalate issues, including significant changes to recovery plan and/or unresponsive suppliers internally for support.

 Partner with internal resources to ensure required internal actions and improvements are completed to support supplier recovery.

 Overall program manager for corrective actions.

 

What you will bring: 

 Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

 Ability to travel up to 80%.

 3-5 years of plant manufacturing experience

5+ years working experience in the Byer/Planner or supply chain function.

 Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the company.

 Ability to work cross-functionally.

Base Pay Range: $90,000 - $160,000. Total compensation for this role will include an incentive plan.
