Job Title: Supply Chain Buyer
Location: Whippany, NJ
Pay: $70,000 - $95,000 an hour
A highly reputable company is looking for a Supply Chain Buyer to join their team! This role includes a large range of duties including but not limited to managing supplier relationships and coordinate the procurement of materials, components, and services. Your efforts will support both ongoing operations and new product development initiatives, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery, and much more!
Job Description:
Achieve the lowest possible cost for materials, balancing quality and schedule needs.Solicit and evaluate proposals using negotiation and cost analysis techniques.Evaluate current and anticipated requirements through ERP/MRP action plans.Implement purchase contracts adhering to company and government regulations.Support new product introduction to provide optimal sourcing solutions.Collaborate with Program Management, Operations, Engineering, and Quality staff to meet production schedules and ensure on-time deliveries.Manage Purchase Order activities including creation, changes, VRMA, RTV, and invoice issues.Assist the Purchasing department and management with special projects and assignments.Perform other duties as assigned.Additional Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of buyer/planning experience in discrete manufacturing within aerospace, medical device, or automotive industries.Proficiency with ERP systems.Experience in purchasing within or from a machine shop.Experience negotiating prices and contracts.A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.APICS/ASCM Certification preferred.Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.Experience with ERP systems implementation.Knowledge of federal acquisition regulations.Ability to manage changing priorities and ensure supplier commitments.Experience sourcing electrical and mechanical components.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Project Management tools.Benefits:

This onsite position will work alongside two other buyers, focusing on either Flight Control Actuation or Utility Actuation. You will interface with the Operations, Sales, Planning, and Quality teams and support specific business units. The role promotes internal growth and development, aiming for promotions within 1-2 years.
