This Position reports to:

Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to purchase materials according to required technical specifications, price, delivery schedule, and terms. Each day, you will ensure purchasing activities align with corporate purchasing policies and procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying new suppliers in cooperation with the relevant category team.

The work model for the role is: Onsite

This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Power Business in Napier New Zealand. Main stakeholders are internal stake holders within the ABB Napier site including Planning, Research and Development, Operations, Quality and Project Management. Further intra company collaboration is anticipated across multiple geographies and interacting with subject matter experts across the globe. External stakeholders include vendors and customer interfaces when required.

You will be mainly accountable for:

Initiating Purchase Orders in the system, according to the purchase requisitions and in alignment with standard procedures, and confirming delivery with suppliers, monitoring, and tracking supplier performance to PO requirements.

Negotiating agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renews price lists and terms and conditions.

Recommending frame agreements to management and executing upon approval.

Analyzing and evaluating bids to determine the optimal value.

Qualifications for the role

You enjoy working with SAP and SAP Ariba and have experience in electronic manufacturing.

You have 3 years of experience in procurement in a manufacturing environment. Ability to demonstrate your experience in procurement.

Possess a strong interest in innovation in the Energy Sector.

You are passionate about driving commercial value from the supply chain

Evidence of higher education either within industry or tertiary

You are at ease communicating in English

You hold current Visa to work in New Zealand
