Supplier Quality Leader

Job Description

As a Supplier Quality Leader, you will be responsible for providing Quality leadership and expertise both internally and at Suppliers to define and deploy strategies that drive quality improvement at pace. This leader must maintain an independence reflecting the business and regulatory responsibilities that the function has.

Key Accountabilities:

Coach and lead suppliers to deliver effective Zero Defects and Quality; Improvement Plans ensuring the Supplier has all the relevant prevention skills required. Coach suppliers in complying with relevant requirements including SABRe and external standards;Contribute to sourcing decisions by performing pre-selection assessments (ESSCA). Development with the Supplier of their Quality Management System to ensure readiness for approval;Ensure the supplier plans and strategies are consistent with our values and strategy. Communicate a simple, compelling and consistent vision which suppliers understand and want to be part of;Engage and influence a wide range of people at all levels both internally and at Suppliers. Ensure suppliers self lead improvement and engage appropriate internal and external resources.Conduct product audit and process walks and review Suppliers internal audit programmes. Review the robustness of PI/NPI to ensure the correct standard is handed over (Handshake with ME). Promote a culture of robust problem solving and continuous improvement at pace.Engage suppliers to ensure they feel accountable for effective governance, data & reporting. Refuse to compromise on issues of quality, professional and behavioural standards.

Key Skills and Qualifications

Coaching and influencing suppliers at all levels to drive zero defects at pace by using expert knowledge on the tools and techniques.Assessing and auditing compliance of suppliers to Aerospace standards and Rolls-Royce specifications. Excellent communication skills.Influences suppliers to solve complex problems.Good business acumen and broad knowledge of other disciplines across Civil Aerospace.Deep knowledge and understanding of the context of external commercial, compliance and regulatory factors.Demonstrated levels of leadership and influence both internally and at suppliers.
