Supplier Quality Engineer

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer. This position is ONSITE Monday -Friday 8:00-am-5:00pm at our Arden NC Eaton facility.  

 

Eaton’s PDCA Division in Asheville, NC is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to develop and manage supplier quality performance and relationships to drive continual improvement of the quality of externally supplied products and services to the Asheville manufacturing plants.  Additionally, the Supplier Quality Engineer will lead and contribute to the maintenance, improvement, and deployment of the Eaton Quality Management System at the site level. 

 

The expected annual salary range for this role is $83250.0 - $122100.0 a year.

What you’ll do:

In this role:

Lead, support, and carry out processes and tasks to assure and improve supplier quality performance aligned to Eaton and site objectives.  Develop supplier relationships.Manage and monitor supplier quality performance through WISPER (DPPM / DMR / PPAP / 3rd Party certification). Responsibilities includes suppliers of: production parts and material, externally provided processes and services.Participate in monthly focus supplier reviews with plant and regional quality teams.Manage the Defective Material Report process (DMR).Support APQP / Safe Launch activities. (Supplier APQP /PPAP, definition of incoming inspection plans, performance monitoring, etc.)Participate in the Material Review Board (MRB).  Drive timely and effective resolution of supplier caused nonconforming material on hold.Participate in plant level Quality Management System (QMS) Steering Committee, assisting with maintaining and improving QMS processes in partnership with the Quality Manager.Manage Supplier Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and provide final disposition.Assure supplier quality management system processes are established, implemented, measured, and maintained effectively to meet Eaton and site requirements.  Audit select suppliers.Assure Eaton product and process quality requirements are known by the supply base.Review supplier performance to identify focused improvement activities for suppliers with least favorable quality performance.  Oversee and guide improvement, leading and driving corrective activities, and escalating for support as needed.  Drive supplier corrective actions.Lead and support advanced product quality planning (APQP) and production part approval process (PPAP), partnering with Eaton support teams.Lead elements of the Eaton Asheville site quality management system.  Plan, assign, and manage internal audits.  Facilitate timely and effective corrective actions together with partners.  Participate in QMS steering committee and site Quality/CI council meetings to assure effective QMS deployment and sustainment. Support third-party ISO-9001 and customer quality audits.Contribute to site operations and quality needs, provide training and guidance to partner teams.Qualifications:

Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Arden, NC will be considered. Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering from an accredited institutionExperience in a Quality or Supplier Quality role.Experience with ISO-9001, TS-16949, or similar QMS standards.Experience as a Certified Internal or External QMS (Quality Management Systems) AuditorExperience with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) processes, Design and Process FMEAs (failure modes and effects analyses), SPC (statistical process control & capability)Ability to read engineering drawings, technical specs, fluent with dimensioning & tolerancing
