 We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team. This position will be fully onsite at Buffalo Grove, IL.

Siemens Buildings is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to manage and drive supplier quality performance, ensure compliance to applicable standards, and support continuous improvement across our supplier base. Reporting to the Supplier Quality Manager, you will work closely with Procurement, Engineering, and suppliers to ensure purchased components and materials meet or exceed expectations.

You’ll make an impact by:

Conduct supplier audits, assessments, and evaluations to ensure compliance with Siemens and industry standards and identify risks and opportunities for improvement. Develop and maintain supplier quality metrics such as PPM, claim rates, NCCs, etc. to monitor supplier performance and drive accountability. Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective action for supplier-related non-conformances and systemic issues using tools such as Pareto analysis, 8D, FMEA, PPAP, APQP, etc. Collaborate with Procurement and Engineering to manage new product introductions and engineering changes to mitigate potential impacts by ensuring supplier readiness and PPAP submission and approval. Define and implement incoming inspection plans and supplier quality agreements as required. Lead initiatives to reduce supplier-related defects, improve supplier performance, implement cost-reduction strategies to improve supplier relationships and performance. Participate in cross-functional teams to drive strategic sourcing and supply chain risk management initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Management, or related field. 3 to 8 years of experience in a Quality Engineering role. 3 to 8 years of experience in a Supplier Quality Engineering role. Proven experience conducting supplier audits and managing supplier quality issues. Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and related quality standards. Skilled in product assembly, inspection techniques, and functional measuring equipment, with a strong understanding of product and manufacturing processes. Extensive knowledge of quality tools such as 8D, PPAP, FMEA, APQP, engineering drawings, tolerances, standards, and specifications. Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 25%) Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP), or equivalent certification. Proficient in gauge R&R studies, control plans, SPC methods, machining, assembly, gauging, and CPK analysis in manufacturing. Proficiency in SAP and quality management systems. Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with measurement equipment such as CMM, OGP, optical comparators, and other precision inspection tools. Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills. Interest in growing into a leadership or management role. Willing and able to work on-site full time, Monday through Friday

The pay range for this position is $70,000 - $138,000 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
