**Supplier Quality Auditor - Quincy, IL**
This is an exempt level position.
**Job Summary:**
The Supplier Quality Auditor conducts independent, risk-based second-party supplier audits to support the Supplier Verification Program for Pet Nutrition and Animal Nutrition. The role leads on-site audits, evaluates supplier food safety and quality systems, verifies corrective actions, and supports supplier approval decisions in alignment with FDA regulations, internal standards, and customer requirements.
This position reports to the Supplier Quality Manager for Pet Nutrition.
**Essential Job Functions:**
+ Plan, conduct, and document on-site second-party supplier audits of raw material, ingredient, co-manufacturer, and service providers in accordance with approved audit protocols and ISO 19011-aligned auditing principles.
+ Serve as lead auditor for supplier qualification, routine monitoring, and for-cause supplier audits.
+ Evaluate supplier food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance programs, including HACCP/Preventive Controls, GMPs, sanitation, traceability, and supplier management systems.
+ Prepare objective, technically sound audit reports documenting audit scope, observations, nonconformances, and risk.
+ Review, assess, and verify supplier corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) for adequacy and effectiveness.
+ Escalate significant or high-risk supplier issues to the Supplier Quality Manager with clear technical recommendations.
+ Support supplier risk ranking, approval status decisions, and ongoing performance monitoring activities.
+ Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Supplier Quality Specialists conducting desktop and remote supplier audits.
+ Support development and continuous improvement of supplier audit tools, procedures, and verification SOPs.
+ Serve as a technical liaison with cross functional teams to support supplier-related performance and qualification.
+ Support customer, regulatory, and internal audit inquiries related to supplier audits and verification activities.
+ Ensure adherence to company policies and established governance related to supplier quality and compliance.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
**Job Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Agriculture, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
+ 3–5 years of experience in quality, food safety, regulatory, or supplier quality roles within food, feed, or pet nutrition.
+ Demonstrated experience conducting or supporting supplier audits or verification activities.
+ Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required (up to 25%).
+ Working knowledge of U.S. pet food regulatory frameworks (FDA, AAFCO); exposure to CFIA, USDA, and NASC preferred.
+ Strong written communication skills with demonstrated attention to detail and document accuracy.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate across functional teams.
+ Sound judgment in recognizing when to escalate technical or regulatory concerns.
+ Certifications desired (must be willing to obtain if not already held): HACCP, PCQI, FSVP, Certified HACCP and Food Safety Auditor

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
The pay range for this position is expected to be between:
