Supplier Performance Engineer

The Supplier Performance Engineer (SPE) has a strategic role responsible for contributing to improvements around supplier performance management which result in best-in-class service levels. The SPE is responsible for assessing supplier capabilities to ensure the supplier can reach the level of performance, capability and capacity required to meet our business needs. The SPE will work closely with Category Managers, Buyers, and Supplier Quality Engineers.

    In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Ensure supplier performance meets/exceeds expectations through the entire life cycle of the relationship. Responsible for: Supplier Delivery Performance to Request / Promised Dates – RDSL/PDSL Supplier Quality – Lot Acceptance and DPPM measures Work with Category Managers, Global Sourcing  and factory support teams as well as others to ensure that the supply chain for raw materials / Finished Goods  are well developed and handled to support Actuation sites Lead Supplier Development efforts in terms of Quality, Supply Chain Speed, and Delivery  Drive supplier improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Project Management, or accepted quality improvement tools (FMEA, MSA/Gage R&R, Control Plans, Capability Analysis, SPC, Root Cause Analysis, Process Mapping, etc.) Ensure supplier capacity and capability adequately support material needs and availability Work with suppliers to improve flexibility and quick response to manufacturing sites Define and measure performance through supplier scorecards, where sustainability, quality, operational, innovation and financial metrics are supported by data Take appropriate, timely and effective actions to resolve issues impacting quality, delivery, or cost Review and audit supplier processes and identify improvements for tangible productivity gains Participate in business reviews with suppliers. Focus on improving service levels (i.e., lead time, quality, OTD), cost (NMI, TWC) Provide and Support Technical expertise to internal team members / Suppliers Review with suppliers and internal design/manufacturing groups to make changes in design, manufacturing processes and/or material specifications to improve quality, cost, productivity, and product manufacturability Assist the feasibility study of parts development in the initial phase of development Travel required 20 – 25%     Who You Are: You are fluent in communicating using global terms.  You create competitive and breakthrough strategies that show a clear connection between vision and action.  You anticipate land mines and plan approaches accordingly.  You provide timely and helpful information to individuals across the organization.  You carefully consider all relevant factors and use appropriate decision-making criteria and principles.   For This Role, You Will Need: Business or technical degree (IE, EE, ME, BA, BS) 3+ years of proven experience in supplier improvement efforts with validated analytical, communication, project management and decision-making skills Knowledge of ISO 9002 Quality System / PED /API6DX / NACE certification programs and proven understanding of Supplier and Process audits Validated understanding of Lean / Six Sigma tools and techniques Legal Authorization to work in the United States – sponsorship will not be provided
