Responsibilities

The Department of Emergency Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ seeks a supplemental residency-trained, ABEM/ABOEM board certified/board eligible Emergency Medicine Physician to join our practice. Applicants with a (1) current track record of publications in Emergency Medicine-relevant clinical or operational topics or (2) leadership experience are preferred. The position includes the following: 

Rewarding work in a busy, high acuity ED with excellent nursing and ancillary care services.During shifts, you will be expected to contribute to the educational mission of Mayo Clinic by working closely with learners inside and outside of Emergency Medicine (e.g. medical students, nursing students, residents from multiple specialties)Access to 24/7 medical and surgical specialty care consultations and admission resources from employed Mayo Clinic providers.Numerous opportunities for independent and collaborative research projects within Mayo Clinic and with strategic partners such as Arizona State University.  Department funding for Mayo Clinic biostatistics support is available.  Numerous competitive intramural funding mechanisms are available as a springboard to extramural funding.Opportunities to participate in Department-specific leadership roles and in Institution-wide leadership groups, some of which provide funded time.Access to a world-class multidisciplinary simulation center that supports patient care innovation and quality initiatives.Opportunities to collaborate with system engineers and analysts, programmers and designers from the Center for the Science of Healthcare Delivery, to study and optimize ED OperationsOpportunities to work with and learn from over 200 accomplished Mayo Clinic Emergency Medicine colleagues who have an unwavering commitment to high value patient care, education, and research.  These colleagues are based at Mayo Clinic sites in Arizona, Florida, Minnesota, and the Mayo Clinic Health System’s integrated network of 17 Emergency Departments in the upper Midwest
