Visit www.atf.gov Responsibilities This position is located under the Office of Human Resources and Professional Development, Human Resources Operations Division, Benefits and Workforce Flexibilities Branch in Washington, District of Columbia. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Chief, Benefits and Workforce Flexibilities Branch (BWFB), Human Resources Operations Division (HROD), Office of Human Resources and Professional Development (HRPD), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and performs duties that are critical to the HR program in ATF. As a Supervisory HR Specialist (Employee Benefits), GS-0201-14, your typical work assignments may include: Serves as the employee benefits subject matter expert to the Bureau's Executive Staff. Supervises a staff of human resources specialist and support staff. Responsible for the technical application of pertinent laws, regulations, and directive to all work performed in the Branch. Directs the preparation of written employee benefit directives, including ATF orders, standard operating procedures, and other written policies and procedures. Represent the Deputy Chief and Chief HROD as an authoritative spokesperson providing consultation and problem solving throughout ATF. Qualifications To qualify for 14, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-13. Additional Conditions of Employment: GS-14 - You qualify if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal, State, or Local government or equivalent public or private sector experience, performing the following duties: Advising and consulting in the role of a functional program as an expert making major/precedent setting technical decisions concerning the employee benefits area; AND Providing continuing leadership, direction, and guidance to staff; AND Experience overseeing and independently makes strategic decisions regarding the operation and functionality of the office; AND Conducting broad range of fact-finding and analytical techniques and decisions on interpretation oof varied and complex data within the context of the requirements of laws, regulations, or policies; AND Serving as a management advisor on the most complex and difficult issues.
