Supervisory Forensics Investigative Specialist
Summary This position is located at Department of Housing and Urban Development Office of Inspector General, OIG, Office of Investigation. As a Supervisory Forensics Investigative Specialist, you will be responsible for planning, developing, overseeing, managing, and conducting extremely sensitive, complex, and often time-critical computer forensic and eDiscovery projects pertaining to investigations which are civil, criminal, and administrative in nature. Responsibilities As a Supervisory Forensics Investigative Specialist, you will: Supervise forensic investigations of the highest complexity involving sensitive criminal and occasionally non-criminal investigations which come under the jurisdiction of the Office of Investigation. Lead extremely difficult, complex, and sensitive digital forensics and eDiscovery investigations of national and inter-regional scope, ensuring the integrity of all computer and computerized evidence. Oversee the overall planning, direction, and timely execution of the digital forensics staff and operations. Plan and assign work to be accomplished by subordinates. Provide advice, counsel, and instruction to employees on work and administrative matters. Interview candidate and review candidate information and resumes for vacant positions, and recommend selections, or assignments. Qualifications You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Specialized experience: For the GS-14, You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: - Demonstrated experience utilizing applicable principles, procedures, and techniques to ensure digital evidence is collected, transported, and stored properly; AND - Demonstrated experience leading people who process and analyze digital evidence; AND - Demonstrated experience using automated databases to manage information. Time-in-Grade:In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks. Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
